Caritas Coreana Decides to Help Afghan Refugees
  
    Relief aid of the Church in Korea will reach Afghan refugees in great difficulties and sufferings due to the U.S.A.-led war.
   The annual national assembly of Caritas Coreana - CBCK (President: Most Rev. Gabriel Chang, Bishop of Cheongju) held on December 3 decided to send US$ 50,000 of emergency aid to Afghan war victims and additional aid of US$ 170,000 to North Korea including special aid of US$47,244 (60 million won) for the anti-hepatitis inoculation of North Korean children through the Diocese of Chunchon and the Eugene Bell Foundation.
   The Caritas Coreana screened foreign countries that requested for aid and selected Tanzania, India, Swaziland, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan, Guinea, Philippines by allotting US$ 31,496,06 (4 billion won).
   The Caritas Coreana approved US$ 153,543 (195,000,000 won) for domestic activity funds and US$ 650,393 (826,000,000 won) for foreign activity funds of 2002.
