Subject: Letter of Condolence and Solidarity

  Dear Rev. Larry Snyder,

  On behalf of Caritas Corea, I would like to express our concern and deepest sympathy for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. We are all deeply saddened by the news of the enormous loss of life, injuries, and destruction caused by the Hurricane.

  We also wish to offer our solidarity and prayers to the victims and their families, and those who lost all their belongings through this terrible disaster. We pray Almighty God to give them comfort, courage, and strength to get over the tragic situation.

  I would like to inform you that the Catholic Bishops¡¯ Conference of Korea (CBCK) will send US$ 50,000 from the solidarity fund of Caritas Corea for the victims of Hurricane Katrina to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

  Again, we will keep you all in our sincere prayers and concerns.
