Caritas supports TB care centerss and TB hospitals with supplementary food, medicine and other articles for the maintenance of the insitutions. Beginning of November in a delegation with our cooperation partner Eugene Bell Foundation a 15-day visit was conducted to various project sites in the western region of North Korea.

Here in Deaan one of the places we visited the delivered boxes with relief goods were checked and handed over to the local staff. TB patients live in the care centers for several months and sometimes far out in the countryside, away from their families.

They receive staple food from the public distribution system but still the care centers have to produce additional food on assigned agricultural areas and in gardens. Surely the families of thee patients bring in something to upkeep their members.

Soybeans and milk maker machines are provided to several centers. It will help the patients to improve their health having a regular cup of soymilk.

This little sick patient is staying in another care centre supported by Caritas.

In Hadan TB Hospital patients receive surgeries. The hospital is located in a remote countryside and suffers from frequent electricity shortages. We may look into the possibility to replace the worn out generator for the operation room.
